Pacquiao Offered $65 Million to Fight Alvarez

According to Ilocos Sur Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson, Manny Pacquiao has been offered $65 million by billionaire Carlos Slim to fight a Mexican boxer next year, possibly Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

The news came after reports about Floyd Mayweather Jr. refusing an offer by a Singapore business group to fight Manny Pacquiao surfaced recently. The offer was said be at $65 million also.

Pacquiao Marquez Fight to Push Through

The Pacquiao Marquez fight will indeed proceed as planned. According to Manny Pacquiao, the match is already set. the The fight will take place on November 12, 2011. It will be fought at a 144-pound catchweight. Marquez has already signed the contract and is expected to get $5 million from the fight, aside from his share from pay-per-view earnings.

According to recent reports, Manny Pacquiao will be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time. The fight is said to be scheduled on Nov. 12 this year.

While no contract has been signed yet, rumor has it that Marquez has already agreed to face Pacquiao again for $5 million.
